Blue Parker, Associate Therapist

Hey y’all! I’m Blue (She/They) a Certified Social Worker. As a first generation student, I graduated from Weber State University with my Masters in Social Work. I am passionate about social justice and the rights of the 2SLGTBQIA+ community and their intersecting identities. Much of what drew me to social work is my own lived experience as a queer, non-binary, multiply neurodivergent person. I like to utilize both my educational and lived experience knowledge to best help folxs in therapy.

I have gained a variety of experience in the mental health field. During my graduate internship, I worked with youth and their families in community mental health helping address complex mental health and social needs. I have experience working with runaway and unsheltered youth in the shelter setting and in street outreach utilizing a harm reduction framework. Additionally, I have experience working with neurodivergent youth in individual and group settings.

My approach in therapy draws from a trauma informed lens utilizing queer theory, systems theory, neurodivergent affirming practices, feminist therapy, and harm reduction psychotherapy. I also like to utilize mindfulness and DBT skills. I am deeply committed to empowering my clients to help them uncover their intrinsic ability to access healing from within. I believe strongly in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and work hard to create a safe non-judgmental space that helps cultivate self-discovery.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my partner and our four fur babies. I love being outside in nature, spending time with friends, and connecting with my community. Some of my current special interests are Disney and building Lego.
