David McLaughlin, CMHC

David earned his Master's degree in Clinical mental health counseling from Adam's State University in 2021 and has spent the past 5 years working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community. His work focuses on the young adult/adult population with a post-mormon lens. As a closeted gay man who served an LDS mission and graduated with a bachelor's degree from BYU he is intimately familiar with the difficult intersection of faith and sexuality. He works from a trauma-informed, person centered approach that focuses on the strengths and autonomy of his clients. Using an eclectic approach of styles from CBT to IFS, he works collaboratively with his clients to find the style that works best for them.

After 14 years living in UT he made the big move to Chicago in June 2024. He lives with his dog Onyx, and spends his free time bodybuilding and walking along the lakeshore.
