Jenessa Crystal, Student Intern

Hi there! My name is Jenessa Crystal (she/her), and I am in the final year of my Masters of Social Work at the University of Utah, with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am excited to be working at Flourish, where I hope to create an affirming and inclusive environment for all clients- one that centers your experiences, expertise, and values.

I especially enjoy working with clients who are exploring the intersections of sexuality, gender, identity, spirituality, and religion. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore, integrate, prioritize, redefine, or step away from religious and spiritual beliefs or practices in ways that feel authentic and aligned with your own values and experiences. Wherever you are in that process, I am here to support you.

My other areas of interest include childhood or persistent trauma, family or relationship conflict, grief, depression, anxiety, adoption or foster care, and diverse family structures. Whether you are looking for concrete skills, support with processing trauma, or simply a place to talk and be heard, we can tailor our work together to what feels most helpful for you.
