Candace Lance, Student Intern

Candace Nicole Lance is a Marriage & Family Therapy Intern (MFT-I) completing her

Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Couples

Therapy at National University, with an expected graduation in early 2027. Her clinical

foundation is Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and individuals, completed

through ICEEFT, along with training in the Flash Technique for trauma. She is also a

Certified Sex Therapy Informed professional through ISTI and practices from a Health

At Every Size (HAES) informed lens. Candace spent the past 20 years working for

technology companies, owning a wellness business, and working as a crisis counselor

before shifting into mental health.

Candace grew up in a culturally diverse part of Southern California, surrounded by LGBTQ+ friends and community, and felt real culture shock at how differently that same population is treated in Utah. She volunteers at LGBTQ+ events and teaches yoga in Ogden. Candace enjoys connecting with family and friends in nature, loves gardening, and will throw movie or music quotes into everyday conversation. She works with couples and individuals navigating infidelity and betrayal trauma, relational and individual trauma, neurodivergent partnerships, and sexual and intimacy disconnection rooted in shame or purity culture. We are all people, doing our best, and support is needed more than ever.
