Zoe Plaza, ACMHC

Hi! My name is Zoe Plaza (she/her), and I am an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC) here at Flourish Therapy. In an environment where members of the LGBTQ+ community often encounter stigma and discrimination, I strive to create a welcoming space for you to process your experiences and explore your mental health concerns without fear of judgment. I welcome all clients from different backgrounds and aim to approach each person with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

My approach stems from a person-centered perspective, which believes every person has the capacity for healing and growth. I utilize behavioral therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to address distressing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) to help you create a new relationship with anxiety and uncertainty. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you find alignment with your unique values and life goals.

Having worked with individuals facing OCD and anxiety, I understand how overwhelming these challenges can be, as well as the stigma and misconceptions surrounding them. My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative environment where clients can gradually confront their fears, build confidence in tolerating uncertainty, and develop lasting skills that promote resilience and well-being.
